How it works
Makes a QR code from a link, text, contact card, email, text message, Wi-Fi login or review link, and lets you download it as a PNG.
- Pick a tab: URL, Text, vCard, Email, SMS, Wi-Fi or Review link, then fill in its fields. The code redraws on every change.
- What gets encoded: vCard becomes a 3.0 contact card, Email a mailto link with subject and body, SMS the form SMSTO:number:message, and Wi-Fi WIFI:T:security;S:name;P:password;H:hidden.
- Review link: text starting with http is used as typed. A Place ID starting with ChIJ, Eh or Ej becomes a Google write-a-review link. Anything else is encoded exactly as typed.
- Options: Foreground and Background colors, Size (starts at 512 px; the box allows 128 to 1024) and Error correction L 7%, M 15%, Q 25% or H 30%, starting on Q.
- The code is drawn in your browser by a QR library the page loads. Download PNG saves it; Copy as image puts it on your clipboard. The page code does not send what you type.
Questions
- Why does my code point to a placeholder address?
- The Quick fill buttons insert addresses containing REPLACE-ME, and the URL box starts with a sample address. Replace them with your own link before you download or print the code.
- Is the Wi-Fi password in the code?
- Yes. The password is written into the code itself, so anyone who scans it receives it. The password box is plain text. Choose None for security if the network has no password.
- How do I make a code for Google reviews?
- Use the Review link tab. Paste the short link from your Business Profile or your Place ID. The page does not check that the link works, so scan the finished code before you print it.
