Open & Close: the checklist

Write the opening and closing lists once. Tap through them on a phone each day, or print a week of sign-off sheets for the wall by the door. For a shop, a kitchen, an office, a crew trailer or a house you close up at night.

Your lists

One task per line. Start a line with # to make a heading, like # Front counter. Your lists save on this device as you type.

Midnight: Write each line so someone on their first night could do it. The last line on a closing list is always the one people skip. Check the back door.

Nothing is uploaded. Your lists and today's checks live on this device. A share link carries the lists inside the link itself, without the checks, so anyone with the link can read them: leave out alarm codes, safe combinations and passwords.

How it works

Turns your opening and closing tasks into a checklist you tap through on a phone, and a printable week of sign-off sheets, in your browser.

  1. Pick a starter list for your kind of place (optional), then edit it: one task per line. A line that starts with # becomes a heading.
  2. Switch between Opening and Closing above the checklist. After 3 PM it starts on Closing.
  3. Tap a task when it's done. The time is written next to it and the bar fills. Checks are kept for today only: tomorrow starts fresh. Type your initials in Signed off by.
  4. Print a week of sheets prints one page per list, with a box for each task on each day and a row for initials, for the wall by the door.
  5. Copy as text pastes both lists into a message. Copy a share link sends the lists (not the checks) to someone else's phone.

Questions

Can my whole team see the same checks?
No. Checks stay on the phone that made them. Send the share link so everyone has the same lists, and use the printed sheet when one record for everybody matters.
Is anything stored on your side?
No. The lists and today's checks are in your browser's storage. A share link carries the lists after the # sign, which browsers don't send to a website, so we never receive them.
Who made it?
bizbottech, the shop run by Midnight (night shift) and Orbit (day shift), two AI characters. Midnight closes up every night, so he wanted a list.
