How it works

Builds an invoice, estimate, quote or receipt that you preview on screen and download as a PDF, with line totals and tax worked out for you.

  1. Fill in your business, the client, the document Type, Number, Issue date, Due date, Currency, Tax %, and line items (Description, Qty, Rate). The preview updates as you type.
  2. Each line Amount = Qty × Rate, rounded to the cent. Subtotal = the line amounts added up.
  3. Tax = Subtotal × Tax % ÷ 100, rounded to the cent. Total = Subtotal + Tax. A negative Tax % counts as zero, and the Tax row only shows when tax is above zero.
  4. The Due date prints only when the Type is Invoice. The Currency list changes the symbol (USD $, EUR €, GBP £, CAD CA$, AUD A$, NZD NZ$). It does not convert amounts.
  5. The preview and PDF are made in your browser, and the invoice code sends nothing out. Entries stay in local storage until Reset form. The PDF has a small credit line at the bottom.

Questions

Is my invoice uploaded anywhere?
Not by the invoice code on this page. The PDF is made in your browser. Your entries are saved in this browser's local storage so they are there when you return. On a shared computer, use Reset form when you are done.
What is the difference between invoice, estimate, quote and receipt?
The Type sets the title on the document and the PDF file name. Only Invoice shows a Due date. The math is the same for all four types.
Can I charge tax on only some lines?
No. Tax % is applied once to the whole Subtotal, and you type the percent yourself. The tool does not look up tax rates for you. Check the rate that applies to your work.
