Terms of Service
Summary: Use CutRoom to make great films. Don't upload illegal content. Student pricing requires a real .edu email. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms. You own your content. We provide the service "as is" during v1 beta.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating a CutRoom account or using any CutRoom service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use CutRoom. These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and BizBot Technology LLC ("BizBot Technology", "we", "us").
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use CutRoom. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using CutRoom, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.
3. Your content — you own it
You retain full ownership of all video files, projects, exports, and creative work you produce using CutRoom. By uploading content to CutRoom, you grant BizBot Technology LLC a limited, non-exclusive license solely to store and process your content for the purpose of providing the service to you. This license ends when you delete your content or close your account.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any footage, music, or other media you upload. BizBot Technology LLC is not responsible for copyright infringement caused by user-uploaded content.
4. Student pricing — .edu verification
The Student plan ($7/mo or $69/yr) requires a valid, active .edu email address issued by an accredited educational institution. By subscribing to the Student plan, you represent that:
- You are currently enrolled at or employed by an accredited educational institution
- The .edu email address you provide is legitimately issued to you
- You will notify us if your enrollment status changes
False claims of student status — including using a .edu email you are not legitimately entitled to — will result in immediate account suspension, forfeiture of any prepaid subscription fees, and may result in legal action. If your enrollment ends, your account will transition to Alumni pricing ($14/mo) with 30 days' notice.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use CutRoom to upload, store, process, or distribute:
- Content that violates any applicable law or regulation
- Content that infringes on intellectual property rights of third parties
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexualizes minors
- Content designed to harass, threaten, or harm any individual
- Malware, viruses, or other malicious code
- Content that violates DMCA or other applicable copyright law
BizBot Technology LLC reserves the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.
6. DMCA compliance
CutRoom complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on our platform infringes your copyright, contact us at hello@bizbottech.com with a DMCA takedown notice. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
7. Subscription, billing, and cancellation
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or at BizBot Technology LLC's sole discretion. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and your account downgrades to the Free tier. BizBot Technology LLC reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice.
8. Free trial
New paid plan subscribers receive a 14-day free trial. No charge is made until the trial ends. If you do not add a payment method before the trial ends, your account automatically moves to the Free tier with no charge.
9. Service availability — v1 beta
CutRoom is currently provided as a v1 beta service "as is" and "as available." BizBot Technology LLC makes no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime and notify users of planned maintenance. BizBot Technology LLC is not liable for any loss of data, lost profits, or consequential damages arising from service interruptions.
10. Account suspension and termination
BizBot Technology LLC may suspend or terminate your account for:
- Violation of these Terms
- False student status claims
- Non-payment of subscription fees
- Uploading illegal or prohibited content
- Abuse of the service or other users
Upon termination, your access to projects and stored files will be revoked. You may request a data export before termination if you contact us in advance.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BizBot Technology LLC's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the CutRoom service shall not exceed the amount you paid to BizBot Technology LLC in the 12 months preceding the claim. BizBot Technology LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Your continued use of CutRoom after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
